Students led World AIDS Day in Taguig

Senior High School students from Taguig public schools flocked at the probinsyudad’s celebration of the 2019 World AIDS Day held at Vista Mall Activity area in Barangay Tuktukan last December 1, Sunday.

The event --done in partnership with the Department of Health, LoveYourself inc., UNAIDS, Red Whistle, Project Red Ribbon and Pilipinas Shell Foundation-- aims to educate our youth in the importance of knowing your own HIV status and raise awareness on its prevention.

Aside from the lecture, students’ skills and creativity were also showcased as Emmanuel Cadelina from Upper Bicutan National High School (UBNHS) emerged victorious in the Digital Arts Poster Making competition, followed by Carmeliza Gregorio from Taguig National High School while Roselle Jardiloza from Gat Andres Bonifacio High School bagged the third place.

Cadelina of UBNHS was also the recipient of the People's Choice Award for having the most liked and shared digital art poster.

Taguig Integrated School was declared the winner in the Interpretative Dance contest. In second place was Diosdado Macapagal High School and last but not the least, Upper Bicutan National High School in third place.

The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is “Communities Make the Difference.”
